When I was 5 my mom had the Tapestry album by Carole King. I loved this song! I loved it so much I would lock myself in the bathroom (alone and away from older siblings), sit on the toilet and sing this song out.
Hmmmph...you were five? I was in high school and everyone had that album. I probably still have it. Great song. The song I remember from being five? Yellow polka dot bikini. Just sayin'.
Being a North Carolinian James Taylor is practically our State hero because of; "In my mind I'm going to Carolina...". There is a current push to actually naming this song our State Song! I'm all for that.
Anyway - ALL of his songs I've grown up with because of our Carolinian anthem! I love You've got a friend...so much too.
One of the finest songs in its day. I've always loved it, too. Was that Carole King on the piano in the back there?
ReplyDeleteThe other thing I noticed, and liked, was the relatively long attention span camera work.
Thanks for sharing this memory!
'so just call out my name and you know wherever i am....i'll come running...oh yes i will....you've got a friend.'
ReplyDeletemmmmmm. wallabees and bell bottoms...likey.
