Plain and Simple...
I think today calls
for a wee bit of extra
LOVE
RAINBOWS
and
UNICORNS...
Photo - Taken just this morning as I let myself wander a moment to the old leather suitcase that holds some of my childhood treasures. I wore these buttons all the time from age 8 to 10. And yes...I will admit...I would sometimes wear them on my rainbow suspenders. What can I say? It was the early 80's.
I especially like the unicorn bottom left.
ReplyDeleteI was a child of the eighties myself, but was never into rainbows and unicorns. I was into KISS and the Loch Ness Monster. I have a photo of me doing my paper route, pushing my orange(!) newspaper cart and wearing a KISS pin.
I made myself an "I love Nessie" pin that I wore often too.
I LOVE the combination - KISS and Nessie.
ReplyDeleteMy sister was into KISS, too.
Me...not so much as the band a whole, but the irony is I did have a HUGE crush on Ace Frehley!!!!!
My big crush was Paul Stanley. I even threw him a birthday party once. I had 43 KISS posters on my bedroom walls. My poor parents!
ReplyDeleteEven before I finished reading your post, I just knew you would mention the rainbow suspenders. I'm much older than you gals, but I loved the 80's. My hubby was a bass player in a local "hair" band and I was the roving photographer. Ahh, the memories. So glad you still have these little mementos.
ReplyDeletei had a peace button when i was a kid. i wore it on a ripped denim jacket and thought i was ultra cool and definitely desirable. cool buttons jenny stevning. steven
ReplyDeleteI remember those! Fun. What happened to peace, love and harmony anyway? I miss it.
ReplyDeletehad a rainbow acoustic guitar strap all the way into the late 90's...
ReplyDeletehad a rainbow "Jesus" button gosh i loved that...very hippy...
for me its the 'rainbow into your heart button' the slightly wizard-y unicorn to it's right, and the blotchy rainbow in the middle...
love it...now where are my water socks and crystal necklaces? ;)
