It Almost Sounded...
It almost sounded like a Sunday morning
when the air was cool
when the hand was held
and the song came from the back of the heart.
It almost sounded like a Sunday morning
when the shirt was pressed
and the hug was given.
It almost sounded like a Sunday morning
when the body was still
warm
sleeping...
It almost sounded like a Sunday morning
when the whisper arrived
when the Truth was told
and the laughter fixed everything...
breathing
heart flooding
with a touch
on the edge
near the curtain
of the sun
pulled back
for light
drawn full
for Love...
out the window
to the trunk
of the rooted tree
soul me
sky me
bury me deep...
when it almost sounded like a Sunday morning.
Drawing - 2.5 x 3.5 inches, colored pencil.
The line "it almost sounded like a Sunday morning" came from a friend. I took it and ran with it.

How do you do it, Jenny Stevning? How do you pull such creativity in words and images out of yourself day after day?
