Color For Beauty

Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful,

for beauty is God's handwriting.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

the beauty of Beauty
that sits away from me

heartbreaking
loving
fitting
bound by veiled threads

laughing
tangled
turning
smoothing

entwined by the Hand
in a cloth I cannot see
but feel in my soul

  1. Today I was feeling a bit down. I walked in a local organic market and there, in a wooden barrel near the register was a huge and colorful array of sunflowers with purple accents of lavender and Peruvian lilies. Believe it or not, I thought of you and your little sunflower. The beauty of those bright yellow faces made me smile in spite of myself. No matter where we go, the Hand is always there, and sometimes I am certain I feel it on my shoulder lightly tapping so that I turn just in time to see and hear a child's laughter. Thank you for the Emerson quote. Lovely.

  2. I love the halo glow around the candle and the bird. The poem strikes me as how I feel sometimes when I want to create but am somehow not able to capture the feelings I want. "bound by veiled threads" -- perfect.
