  1. Hi Jenny,
Years ago in downtown Santa Barbara, where I live, I saw this large older man wearing a Greek Sailor's hat kneeling on the ground looking at something small, and saying "It's okay, it's okay, don't worry little bird." I went over and he told me the bird had fallen from its nest. I got a cage from a pet shop, took it home and tried to feed it. It would only eat branola bread. It was a baby swallow. After a few weeks it started banging against the cage wanting to get out and I had to let him go. I was worried, but he came back and lit on my windowsill every once in a while where I would leave bread. We called him Elvis. Your picture made me think of him and that sweet older sailor trying to protect a tiny bird from harm on a busy sidewalk on a weekend morning. I just started a new blog called The Angels Wear Fins. Check it out if you want. http://theangelswearfins.blogspot.com
    Peace,
    Noelle
