Polarities are similar to the faces of the coin. All part of the same coin. I like the Gibran image pretty well. But joy/sorrow are not two, not one.

Nice. I especially like Steven's comment. The word "organic" has been in my head a lot lately. I like the idea that sorrow and joy are organically interwoven. Thinking of it this way makes me realize how obviously true that is.
